About Casa De Los Pobres USA

Casa De Los Pobres, U.S.A. is a non-profit corporation in support of the Casa de los Pobres in Tijuana, Mexico.  Hundreds of donors help to keep the Casa’s doors open each month, to feed and help the poorest of the poor in the city’s colonias.

  • The mission of the Casa de los Pobres USA is to support the Casa de los Pobres in Tijuana, Mexico, a non-profit that serves the poor in Tijuana by providing food, clothing, medical care and other needed services.

How You Can Help: 

  1. Monetary Donations are most needed – all of the services provided by the sisters are funded by your generosity.  See the “Donate” tab above.
  2. Donations of good are also most welcome, see below. 

Drop-Off Location for Donations — St. Brigid’s Parish Hall, 4735 Cass Street, San Diego 92109, Monday – Friday 8 am to 4:00 pm – note new location as of Oct 1 below:

We will gladly accept your donations of:

  • Canned, dried, and boxed food items (unexpired) – canned meat and tuna especially
  • Beans, rice (in packages of 5 to 20 pounds and unexpired)
  • Blankets, sleeping bags, bedding, new or gently used, clean and in good condition
  • Sheets, towels, new or gently used, clean and in good condition
  • New clothes for men, women and children with tags attached, socks, shoes (sorry, we cannot accept used clothing items)
  • Oner the counter medications and vitamins (Tylenol, cough medicine, children’s cold medicine, daily vitamins — unexpired)
  • Toiletries for men and women
  • New unused toys
  • School supplies, new
  • Please place your donations in white plastic bags with “CASA” written on them.

Sorry, we cannot accept any used clothing, used shoes, any type of electrical item, or any building materials.

New donation drop-off location as of October 1, 2024:                                                   Our Lady of Refuge Church, 4226 Jewell Street (corner of Jewell St. and Oliver Ave.),  

San Diego, (Crown Point/Pacific Beach), CA 92109

Donation Times:  Sundays 8:00AM until 2:00PM and Mondays 8:30AM until 3:00PM        

Marissa in the office will open the hall for donations.                                                            

Park next to the parish hall in the parking lot by entering on Oliver Avenue.
