“The happiness of the just man — open-handed he gives to the poor, his justice stands firm forever.”

Psalm 112

Special Appeal in Anticipation of Christmas

The Sisters pray that we collect enough money to provide a special CHRISTMAS BAG of food along with a blanket for 1300 of the most helpless families. The Sisters will attend the masses at All Hallows Church on November 28 and 29 to meet with the people.

  • Socks, Caps, Tarps, and protein-based food are especially needed to help alleviate the cold nights

These “poorest of the poor” families live at the dumps of Tijuana, just 40 miles from our warm homes. In the Franciscan Spirit, Sister Armida believes with all her heart that “God will provide.”

This year has seen turmoil around the world. We view the situation of the poor in Tijuana as continuing turmoil. With your support, and the care given by the Sisters at the Casa, many men and women are rehabilitated and able to move into the mainstream of productive society.

Your generous donations make miracles possible in the lives of the poor

  • To alleviate hunger is a miracle for those who suffer such dire want.

Thank you for your contributions (46 donors) and a total of $16,536.25!  This includes a special donation of $6200 from a family Foundation and $1000 from the Anonymous Fund at the San Diego Foundation.  Long-time supporter Betty O’Neill has died, and this month 11 friends made special donations in her honor totaling $1,075. We extend our sympathy to her husband Bob.

Your gifts were sent to the Casa to buy food and medical supplies for the thousands of grateful people who eat in the dining room, come to the Bodega and visit the Medical Clinic. Thank you for all donated goods as well. The Sisters and people pray regularly for you. All special prayer requests are placed on the altar of the Chapel. Please send them to us.

Contributions are tax-deductible. We have NO OVERHEAD EXPENSES — donations go immediately to help the impoverished who turn to the Casa for help. Tax receipts are available upon request. We accept online donations!

Sister Armida and the Sisters wish to express their gratitude for your continued help through the years as they celebrate 59 years of missionary work in Tijuana. Each day, the Sisters humbly thank God for his constant miracle of the multiplication of brad and fishes. God Provides!
