“My name is Virginia N. I have 37 years. I am a single mother and have two daughters, Julian, 12 years, and a four-year-old. I am a person with little resources and need to support them and pay for school supplies, and take care of my father who is 83 years old. For him, I need a wheelchair if possible, please, as it is hard for me to transport him to doctors appointments. I need tennis shoes, tarps for my roof please, and may God bless you always. Many many thanks.”
Blankets and Staple Foods are Needed Now
The people living in the colonias outside the city of Tijuana in the dumps are especially distressed due to our recent extreme cold and icy wind in the mornings and evenings. It is much worse for those who live in the hills. The struggle of these people for the basic necessities of life is unrelenting.
The Casa is swamped with requests for:
- FOOD: beans, rice, sugar, flour, peanut butter, tuna, canned vegetables and fruits
- BLANKETS
- TARPS
- Children’s vitamins, baby Tylenol, non-prescription items for babies and children, diapers and soap
They need help and relief which we try to provide with your generous donations.
Your Donations are Changing Lives and Breaking the Cycle of Poverty
The people pray each day to thank God for the help your donations provide. In February, 22,500 meals were served at the Casa!
Dozens of studious and deserving students (35 and counting!) receive scholarship aid. The Sisters of the Casa do an amazing job of getting the most value out of each and every donation. The men, women, and children say THANK YOU! Thank you also to those who gave blankets, bedding, and FOOD.
Food, blankets, household items, linens, and toys all require permits to cross the border in the truck. Many hours are spent applying and waiting for permits. This part of the Sisters’ work is difficult and tedious. They exhibit constant patience and love to everyone who meets them.
We have NO overhead, just minimal fees from Paypal and credit card donations. Virtually everything you contribute goes directly to help the people. The truck comes to 6432 Cardeno Drive, La Jolla 92037 every Tuesday to pick up your donations.
MAY GOD BLESS YOU FOR YOUR GOODNESS AND JOY IN GIVING
